Power Supply Wattage Calculator

Use this calculator to find the required or actual wattage for a power supply by entering the voltage and current values.

What this calculator is doing

This calculator determines the electrical power in watts using the basic formula from electrical engineering:

\[ P = V \times I \]

Where:
\( P \) = Power in watts (W)
\( V \) = Voltage in volts (V)
\( I \) = Current in amperes (A)

This calculation assumes direct current (DC) or purely resistive AC loads (power factor = 1). For AC circuits with reactive components, the real power is:

\[ P = V \times I \times \text{PF} \]

Where PF is the power factor (0 < PF ≤ 1).
