Cycling Power Calculator for GPX Routes

Estimate the cycling power required to complete a GPX route within your target time. Upload your route and enter the rider weight, bike weight, expected headwind, and desired finishing time. The calculator analyzes the route distance and elevation profile to estimate the power needed along the course.

The results include estimated average and peak power, required average speed, total ascent, and route statistics. A power, gradient, and elevation profile shows how the required effort changes throughout the route, helping you identify demanding climbs and high-power sections.

The calculation considers gravitational resistance, rolling resistance, aerodynamic drag, drivetrain efficiency, and route gradient. GPX elevation data is smoothed over short distances to reduce unrealistic power spikes caused by GPS elevation noise.

This calculator provides an engineering estimate rather than a race pacing plan. It assumes a constant ground speed along the route, so actual cycling power will vary depending on pacing, cornering, braking, road conditions, wind direction, riding position, and other factors.
